Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northwestern and Uva provinces and in the Galle, Matara and Mullaitivu districts during the evening or night, the Department of Meteorology said.
A few showers may fall out in the Western and Northwestern coastal areas and in the Jaffna district during the morning too.
In the meantime, showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle.
Winds will be south-westerly over the marine areas around the island and would strike at 20-30 KMPH.
Wind speed may increase up to 40-45 KMPH periodically in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai via Mannar and the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil will be moderately rough occasionally although, temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas may turn up during thundershowers.
