Showers or thundershowers may occur in multiple locations in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, according to the Meteorological Department.
Rain is further expected in Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts during the evening or night, providing some relief from the continuous heatwaves.
Eastern, Uva and North-central provinces along with Nuwara-Eliya and Matale districts will see a few rains, the Met. Department added.
Fairly high winds of 30-40 KMPH are foreseen in Northern, North-central, North-western, Southern, Eastern and Uva Provinces including Eastern slopes of central hills.
