Six police officers attached to the Gampaha Police Special Motorcycle Squad, arrested over the assault of a Catholic priest, were further remanded until January 29.
An identification parade will be held on the same day.
The priest was assaulted after he reportedly failed to stop his bike at the instructions of the police.
The incident has drawn strong condemnation from the Catholic church.
The Policemen had clearly identified that he was a Catholic priest before he was badly assaulted.
The priest had been admitted to the hospital after he had been left behind by the Policemen.
