A Special Commodity Levy of Rs. 300 has been imposed on import of Black Gram, Green Gram and Cowpea with effect from February 20, the Ministry of Finance said.
A Rs 25 per kilo gram Levy also has been imposed on imports of Maize.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
