Special security measures will be in place around the Election Secretariat in Rajagiriya on Thursday (15), the day nominations for the Presidential Election.
Acting Media Spokesman DIG Ruwan Gunasekara said a special traffic plan will also be in place on Thursday (15) from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, deposits for the 2024 Presidential Election are set to close today (14th) at noon.
According to the Election Commission, 37 individuals have already made deposits to contest the election.
This includes 21 candidates from political parties, one from another political 16 independent candidates.
The acceptance of nominations for the presidential election will be accepted tomorrow (15) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
