The Sri Lankan delegation to 58th Annual Meeting of Asian Development Bank (ADB) met with Masato Kanda, the President of ADB yesterday (7), in Milan, Italy.
The delegation, led by Treasury Secretary Mahinda Siriwardana, also met with other senior officials of the ADB.
During the discussion with the President of the ADB, the delegation "thanked the steadfast support extended by the ADB to Sri Lanka in its efforts to overcome the deep economic crisis. The strong efforts and specific contribution made by Mr. Kanda in Sri Lanka's official bilateral debt restructuring process was especially appreciated," Mr Siriwardana said on X.
"In addition, challenges in sustaining hard-earned gains in the Sri Lankan economy and working towards achieving a high, sustainable and job rich growth, as well as enhansing technical and financial support of the ADB with respect to those endeavours and newly emerging issues were also discussed during these discussions," the Treasury Secretary added.
