Sri Lanka Customs Launches Vehicle Verification Portal

Sri Lanka Customs has introduced an online portal to verify the authenticity of legally imported vehicles. This platform empowers the public to confirm vehicle legality by entering the chassis number and vehicle registration number into the portal.

This system would enable vehicle buyers and sellers to verify legality conveniently before completing transactions and ensure that only legally imported vehicles are circulated within the country.

Additional Director General as well as Customs Media Spokesman, Seevali Arukgoda explained that the portal includes details of all motor vehicles imported after 2002 and all motorbikes imported after 2011.

He added that if a vehicle chassis number is not found in the system, individuals can verify the legality by contacting Sri Lanka Customs and providing more details about their vehicle.
