Emirates, the world’s largest international and most profitable airline, is continuing its global search for top-tier aircraft technical talent, with Sri Lanka confirmed as its next destination. The airline will host information sessions in Colombo on 10 March 2026 for skilled and aspiring Workshop Technicians interested in joining its engineering workforce based at its hub in Dubai, the airline said in a media release.

The roadshow forms part of the Emirates Group’s global recruitment drive to onboard 17,300 professionals across 350 roles during the current financial year. The initiative underscores the group’s strategic focus on strengthening its technical capabilities and further elevating maintenance standards across its international fleet.

Both experienced and aspiring workshop technicians are invited to attend the Colombo session, where Emirates’ recruiters will outline details of the role, remuneration, benefits and life in Dubai. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage directly with the airline’s engineers and managers to gain practical insights into working life, career progression and professional development within Emirates. Interested candidates are required to register in advance at: www.emiratesgroupcareers.com/engineering/.

Jaber Mohamed, Emirates Country Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives, said: “Dubai offers our engineers the chance to build meaningful, long-term careers while working on the world’s largest fleet of widebody aircraft within a truly international team environment. Our US$950 million investment in a state-of-the-art engineering complex at Dubai World Central reflects the scale of our ambition.”

Construction on Phase 1 of Emirates’ engineering facility at Dubai World Central began in 2024 with an expected completed time of 2027. Spread over 1 million square metres, it is purpose-built to support Emirates’ aircraft fleet and operating requirements into the 2040s. It will also be a centre of excellence for commercial aviation engineering services in the Middle East, with spare capacity potentially offered to other airline operators.

Emirates offers a competitive tax-free salary, eligibility for profit share, excellent medical insurance, life insurance, education allowance and concessional cargo and deeply discounted flight tickets for self, family and friends.
