With the highest number of COVID-19 related deaths of 186 reported yesterday since the pandemic began last year, Sri Lanka recorded a total number of 6,790 deaths due to the global pandemic.
According to the Director-General of Health Services, among the COVID-19 victims reported yesterday,111 were males and 75 of females. The majority of the deaths numbering 147 are of elderly people in the 60 years and above age group.
Another four persons under 30 succumbed to the virus infection.
