Sri Lanka’s low-cost carrier FitsAir, announced today it will be commencing commercial flight operations from October 5 from Colombo to Dubai, Male and Trichy.
The airline promoted by Fits Aviation, a member of the Aberdeen Holdings group is headed by aviation expert and veteran Peter Hill with 200 strong staff. Mr. Hill was the CEO at SriLankan Airlines under Emirates management.
The no-frills carrier will provide a free checked-baggage allownace of 30 kg and a free carry-on bag of 7 kg and will also serve passengers with a complimentary refreshment pack, although other meals, beverages and snacks are also available for purchase onboard.
Mr. Hill noted that FitsAir due to its pricing competitiveness will make air travel a viable option for many Sri Lankans. (SD)
