Considering the escalating COVID-19 situation in Sri Lanka and the painstaking efforts taken by the government headed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to fight the pandemic in the country, the staff of the Sri Lanka High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya have decided to donate their monthly salary in August to the COVID-19 Fund, as a token contribution at this crucial time of need.
This follows a proposal from Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa calling all the Cabinet Ministers to donate the salary for the month of August to the Covid-19 Fund, Sri Lankan High Commission in Nairobi said.
