A student of Kingswood College Kandy was killed in a train accident today morning, Police said.
The student was crossing the track in Mulgampola, instead of making use of the overhead bridge, Police said.
Initial reports said that the student was using a phone at the time of the accident, but Police said there was no immediate evidence to establish that.
The train was proceeding from Badulla to Kandy.
