The Police Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women had arrested a suspect who had allegedly distributed child related pornographic images and videos via social media platforms.
The arrest was made after police obtained information of a person who distributes child related pornographic videos to foreign nationals via face book according to a report send to the Bureau by a nonprofit organization based in United states identified as National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Afterwards investigation were carried out on the matter police following which the Bureau informed facts to the Colombo Magistrate’s courts and obtained a report on mobile analysis report, and arrested the suspect.
The suspect was identified as a 20 year old who was residing at Kandaliya Paluwa, Ragama.
