TNA MP refuses to accept summons written in Sinhala
Kilinochchi district Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP for S.Sridharan has refused to accept a summons issued in Sinhala language to appear before Jaffna Courts on February 20.
The MP told police officers who arrived to hand over the document that he cannot read Sinhala and requested the summon to be sent to him in the Tamil language.
The police officers then submitted a translation of the summons which the MP refused to accept as it is a translation and not a summons or a court order in Tamil. He requested the court document to be sent to him via registered post. (Pix by Romesh Madushanka)
