Mobile phone subscribers will be able to retain their number when changing telecom service providers under the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) Service facility, Director-General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) Oshada Senanayake announced today (14).
According to the DG of TRCSL, preliminary steps in this regard were taken last year and legal approval has been given to enable this facility to the customers.
Accordingly, MNP enables mobile subscribers to retain their mobile numbers when switching from one service provider to another.
