The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) called the people to confirm whether they are purchasing a TRCSL registered mobile phone when they are buying new mobile phones.
The Deputy Director of TRCSL-Compliance (Consumer Complaints, Public Awareness) Maneka Pathirana advised people to verify if the mobile phone is a TRCSL registered phone before buying it.
To verify the registration status an SMS should be sent under the format “IMEI enter the 15-digit IMEI number” to 1909.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
