Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today called the Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella to investigate into a directive issued to stop providing patients in the north central province hospitals with sea food with their meals and instead provide them tank fish.
Mr Premadasa addressing Parliament said that the circular had been issued by the Chief Accountant of the provincial Health Directors office in the North Central Province.
“Is the government appointing more ministers at the expenses of the patients”, he said.
The circular apparently had been issued to cut down expenses in hospitals.
Minister Kiriella promised to investigate into the matter.
