Police fired tear gas and water canons to disperse the protest organised by the Teacher-Principal Union in at Palan Thuna Junction in Pelawatta today.
A crowd of over 1000 individuals protested, settled arrears being one of their many demands.
The protest began at the Buddhagosha Ground and moved towards Isurupaya.
One protester was injured.
