Nineteen-year-old pilot Zara Rutherford, who aims at becoming the youngest woman to fly around the world solo, landed in Colombo International Airport (Ratmalana) on Tuesday.
Her light aircraft was welcomed with a water salute. Zara is to leave for India today.
In August this year, the British-Belgian teen departed from Kortrijk-Wevelgem Airport in western Belgium on her 51,000-km journey, which is to span five continents and 52 countries. Sri Lanka is her 40th country.
