President Ranil Wickremesinghe met the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, . Patricia Scotland QC on Tuesday, during his visit to the United Kingdom (UK) to attend the State Funeral Service of the Late HM Queen Elizabeth II.
This meeting took place before President Wickremesinghe's departure from United Kingdom to Sri Lanka.
President Wickremesinghe and Patricia Scotland discussed Sri Lanka’s engagement with the Commonwealth Secretariat and matters of mutual interest.
The Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs the Rt. Hon. James Cleverly,MP hosted a reception where President Wickremesinghe also attended at the Church House on September 18.
These events also provided the opportunity for the President to interact with World Leaders.
