The third generator of the Lakvijaya coal power plant in Norochcholai, which broke down yesterday, has now been restored and reconnected to the national grid, a senior engineer at the plant said.
Work on restoring the generator commenced last night and engineers were able to connect 180MW to the national grid by this afternoon, the official said.
The third generator at the plant initially broke down on December 3 last year and was only reconnected to the national grid on Monday, only for it to break down again less than 24 hours later.
The first and second generators at the plant are already supplying 600MW to the national grid and the official expressed confidence that the third generator too will reach its full capacity of 300MW later this evening.
