Another twelve persons have been arrested for attacking residences and property of parliamentarians and heads of local councils on May 9.
Four have been arrested by Kegalle police for attacking and causing damage to MP Tharaka Balasuriya’s house and office. According to police the suspects, aged 61,53,35 and 32 are residents of Kegalle.
A 58 year old woman has been arrested in Ratmalana over her involvement in attacking the residence of MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena in Ratmalana on May 9.
Dankotuwa police has arrested a 26 year old for causing damage to the residence of MP Arundika Fernando. A 44 year old man from Horana has been arrested for damaging the residence of MP Vidura Wickremanayake and damaging state vehicles parked at his premises.
Two men and a female from Kadawatha have been arrested for causing damage to the house of Mahara PS Chairman Sudheema Chandani. Police said two men have also been arrested over assaulting the Chairman of Elahera Pradeshiya Sabha on May 9.
