A public Way of the Cross of the Wellapalliya Parish was held today (29), Good Friday, to profess the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Picture shows devotees participating in the way of the cross with a heavy large cross from the church of St. Anthony's, Dickowita, Hendala to the church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Palliyawatta, Hendala with the distance of over 3km barefoot under the sun.
It is a special feature that the Don Bosco Salesian sect priest and religious brothers led by Rev. Fr Nuwan Tharaka, Parish Priest of Wellapalliya at the respective places of the way of the cross meditated with real life experiences.
