At least three individuals have been arrested in Batticaloa for election violations, according to PAFFREL election monitors.
One person was arrested next to a polling station in Kattankudy for making announcements into a speaker encouraging people to vote for a specific candidate. Two others were arrested in Valaichcheenai, one for attempting to vote with forged documents and another for starting a fight with other party members while telling people who to vote for.
