Three arrested for attack on businessman after argument on FB
Three suspects have been arrested over an assault of a businessman in Puttalam following an argument on Facebook.
The three suspects were taken into custody by the Mundalama Police yesterday. The businessman is the owner of a foreign employement agency in Kanamulla, Mundalama and police said that another businessman who had a personal grudge against the victim had organised the attack.
The victim stated that he was attacked by seven men on the night of April 19 following an argument on Facebook. He said that after the argument, those who assaulted him had posted over Facebook that he will be assaulted and the attack had indeed happened that night itself outside his home. He was admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital and discharged on April 23.
The three arrested suspects are to be produced before the Puttalam Magistrate's Court.
