Three suspects have been taken into custody over the illegal possession of items of archaeological value, along with gold and nine gem stones.
The suspects are a male and two females aged 41, 45 and 53 years. They were arrested yesterday by the Medawachchiya Police following a tip-off.
The suspects are residents of Kirigalwewa and are due to be produced before the Medawachchiya Magistrate's Court today.
