Three persons were killed in a shooting last night at Mahabodhiwatta in Hiniduma, police said.
According to Police Media Unit, two men who arrived on a motorbike had burst into a boarding house and opened fire on the occupants, killing the owner of the boarding house and two others.
All three victims died at the scene. The owner of the boarding house has been identified as a 55-year-old resident of Mahabodhiwatta, Panangala. The other two deceased are residents of Hiniduma and Ambalangoda.
A motive for the killing is yet to be established and investigations are underway to arrest the assailants, police added.
