Three undergraduates have been suspended at the University of Peradeniya in connection with the assault on undergraduates from the Faculty of Law.
Undergraduates from the Faculty of Law have always been against 'ragging' at the University in any form.
All lectures in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Peradeniya in all departments to ' go -on line ' until further notice which would be after the" Board of Discipline" and the Proctor of the University discusses the ongoing issue.
This procedure had been adopted to curtail ragging , after the assault on Law Faculty undergraduates and the suspension of three undergraduates of the Faculty of arts.
The Police and the University administration are conducting independent inquiries into the incident of ragging and the assault on the Undergraduates of the Faculty of law.
