A Humanitarian Priorities Plan (HPP) was launched by the United Nations today to support the vulnerable people affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
New loan scheme to aid MSME
To revitalize micro, small and medium scale entrepreneurships (MSMEs) that were devastated by the disaster, the government has decided to implement a new loan scheme. This new scheme combines and replaces three existing government-financed loan schemes , including SMILE – III: Originally for industrial and production sector investments, E – FRIEND – II: Originally for environmental-friendly financing, and (RE – MSME): Originally for revitalizing the general micro, small, and medium industries sector.
Cabinet approves new recruitment proposal
Approval granted by the Cabinet of Ministers to the recruitment of 2,284 personnel to the state sector to fill existing vacancies.
ADB agreement for US$3 million approved
The proposal to enter into agreements with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to obtain US$3 million for ongoing recovery efforts was granted by the Cabinet.
A/L exam answer sheets are safe
The Commissioner General of Examinations, Indika Kumari Liyanage has said G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examination answer sheets have not been damaged by cyclone Ditwah.
