CAASL to introduce licensing system for UAS

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), for the first time, has decided to introduce a licensing system for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for operators who are engaged in commercial and professional activities.


Former Media Ministry Secretary remanded 

Former Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and former Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) Anusha Palpita was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) on charges of failing to disclose the source of assets to the tune of 46 million rupees.

Johnston Fernando and sons among five remanded over alleged misuse of Sathosa vehicle

The Wattala Magistrate’s Court has further remanded five suspects including former Minister Johnston Fernando and his two sons until January 30. They were arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) for alleged misuse of a Sathosa vehicle during Fernando’s tenure as Minister.
