The Tourism Ministry is planning to introduce the Rapid Antigen Test(RAT) to increase the efficiency of checking foreign tourists arriving in the country.
A senior official of the Ministry said that the Minister Prasanna Ranatunga is having discussions with the Director General of Health Services Dr Asela Gunawardena to discuss the possibility of using Rapid antigen tests along with PCR tests to screen tourists and check them if they are carrying COVID -19.
The Ministry explained that currently the government is conducting 5000 PCR tests at the airports.
