Ananda Palitha, a Trade Unionist attached to the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, was granted bail by courts yesterday over a statement he made in public recently.
Earlier he was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Saturday after making a statement warning the public of an acute fuel shortage in the coming days.
He was produced before the courts yesterday and subsequently released on bail.
