Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange was temporarily halted on Tuesday morning due to the S&P SL20 index dropping over 5 per cent from the previous close. It was not clear as to why the index fell or whether it was connected to the war-affected West Asian region.
The exchange said in a statement that regular trading will commence in 30 minutes. Subsequent to the market halt, the market sessions have been scheduled as follows; Halt Duration- From 9.31 a.m. to 9.36 a.m. Auction Session- From 9.36 a.m. to 10.01 a.m. Regular trading will commence at 10.01 a.m.
