The trial against former MP Hirunika Premachandra on allegations of abducting a youth, assaulting and threatening him has been fixed from January 30 onwards by the Colombo High Court..
High Court judge Amal Ranaraja today ordered the accused to be present in couts on January 30 for the hearing.
Ms Premachandra is accused of abducting a youth working at a shop in Dematagoda in 2015. She faces 29 charges.
Earlier eight others accused charged in the same case pleaded guilty were given a suspended sentence of two years each suspended for 12 years. They were fined Rs 165,000 and ordered to pay Rs 285,000 as compensation.
Ms Premachandra pleaded not guilty.
Ten witnesses including a child has been listed as witnesses in the case.
