Indictments were today (4) served on 24 persons over the Easter Sunday bombings when their cases were taken up before the Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar.
A special three-member panel of judges comprising Justice Damith Thotawatte as Chair and Justices Amal Ranaraja and Navaratne Marasinghe commenced the hearings today.
The defendants include several Moulavies allegedly involved in the Easter Sunday attacks which claimed 271 lives.
Police have filed 23,270 charges against the 24 defendants .
The hearings were fixed for November 23.
