Two undergraduates of the Sri Jayawardenepura University have been suspended over a ragging incident, Vice Chancellor of the University Pathmalal Manage said today.
The ragging incident had taken place in a hostel rented out by the University where the senior students had entered into.
One of the freshers had been injured in the incident after he was assaulted by the senior students and was admitted to hospital.
The two students involved in the ragging have been suspended for two years.

Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today that the suspect in the rape of a lady doctor at the Anuradhapura teaching hospital has been identified as an army deserter and he will be apprehended shortly.
