Two army personnel have been arrested over the death of a 25-year-old woman by shooting.
The shooting took place during a drug raid near Wanathamulla flats in Borella. Police said the woman was shot dead when the weapon of an army personnel misfired. The woman who sustained gunshot injury died on admission to the National Hospital.
Borella police is conducting further investigation into the incident.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
