Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of an individual in Keselwatta.
Police have been on the lookout for the two suspects regarding an incident where gunmen opened fire on an individual in Keselwatta on September 8. The Colombo Crimes Division arrested the two suspects in connection with the attempted murder yesterday (19).
One suspect was taken into custody while hiding in Kolonnawa with 7.9 grams of heroin. Further investigations led police to recover the revolver used in the shooting along with two live bullets, Police Media Unit stated.
The other suspect was arrested in Gunasinghapura on charges of aiding an abetting the crime. Police also recovered 6.7 grams of heroin from his possession.
The suspects, both aged 26, are residents of Keselwatta and Gunasinghapura. They are due to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today (20).
