Two individuals were arrested by the Navy and STF with possession of cannabis in Thambalagamuwa, Trincomalee area, the Navy said.
During the search operation carried out, they discovered a parcel of 1 kg and 576g of cannabis held with the two suspects who were preparing to sell this parcel.
The two suspects were identified as persons aged 42 and 52 residents from the Thambalagamuwa area. The suspects together with the seized parcel were handed over to the Thambalagamuwa Police for further legal action.
