Two killed due to three wheeler- train collision
Two persons including the trishaw driver were killed this morning after the trishaw collided with the train running towards Beliatta.
The incident had occurred while the trishaw was driven across the Wijeyaratna, Mawatha Railway crossing at Ratgama.
When the incident occurred there were two passengers at the back seat of the three wheeler, however one passenger had managed to escape the train collision after running out of the three wheeler.
The police had identified that the deceased trishaw driver as a resident of Dodanduwa Pinkanda area and while the passenger was identified as a resident of Bussa kakillamandiya area.
The person who saved himself had got onto the trishaw at a halfway point when the three wheeler was already on a hire.
The bodies of the deceased had been taken to Karapitiya teaching hospital Galle to conduct post mortem inquiry.
Further investigations are carried out by Ratgama Police.
