Two persons were killed when a car collided with a three-wheeler near the Kankaniyamulla reserve on the Pannala-Kuliyapitiya Pannaradhana road last night, Pannala Police said.
The deceased have been identified as M A Mohammad Anshan, 38, and Mohammad Fazli Fatima Noah, 17, both residents of Bammanna Narangoda. The daughter of the deceased has also been admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Police suspect that the three-wheeler traveling from Kuliyapitiya to Pannala had collided head on with a car coming from the opposite direction. The father, daughter and their cousin were travelling in the three-wheeler.
The driver of the car suspected to be involved in the accident has also been admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital due to an illness.
