Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the May 17 shooting by two gunmen on a motorbike targeting the vehicle of former National Lotteries Board Director Thusitha Halloluwa.
Police Media Unit said officers from the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) arrested two suspects who allegedly aided and abetted the crime from Kadawatha and Ganemulla yesterday (2). CCD officers also recovered 13 live rounds of T56 ammunition, a T56 magazine, 10.5 grams of 'Ice,' an electronic scale, a suspected forged National Identity Card and three mobile phones in the suspects' possession.
The suspects, aged 24 and 38 years, are residents of Ganemulla and Giriulla. They are alleged to have kept and transported the items found on their possession, which had been given to them by the main suspect in the shooting. That suspect is also under arrest.
The suspects are due to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court. The CCD is conducting further investigations into the incident.
