Three suspects have been arrested over the murder of political activist, Dan Priyasad.
police also have obtained a court order on a father and son preventing them leaving the country.
police informed courts that the two persons had a rivalry with Priyasad.
Priyasad succumbed to his injuries sustained in a shooting incident in Wellampitiya last night (22), Police said.
Police said two persons had arrived for the shooting and fled on a motorcycle after the shooting.
Priyasad succumbed to his injuries after admission to the Colombo National Hospital.
A pistol had been used to shoot Priyasad.
Two police teams have been deployed to arrest the suspects and currently they are analysing the CCTV footage obtained from the area.
The shooting took place in a housing complex in the area while Priyasad was attending a party.
Priyasad was a candidate from the SLPP for the upcoming Local Government elections. He was contesting from the Kolonnawa Urban Council .
