A Lankan multi-day trawler has rescued two Somali fishermen who have been stranded in deep sea for many weeks, Beruwala police said.
Local health officials conducted PCR tests on the six local fishermen and the two Somalians as they reached shores.
The two Somalians have been placed under quarantine in the trawler, while the six local fishermen have been taken to a nearby government quarantine centre.
Beruwala police along with Beruwala Medical Officer of Health, Navy and Coast Guard Unit at the Beruwala harbour are conducting further investigation.
