Two youths killed in motorbike accident

The bodies of two youths were recovered from a hole filled with water near the in Kandawali, Kilinochchi yesterday.

Police said the bodies of the youths, aged 20 and 23 years, were recovered from a water filled hole that had been dug temporarily for building the Puliyampokkane Bridge, which is still under construction.

The victims, aged 20 and 23 years, are residents of Nilaveli. Police said initial investigations have determined that the victims, who were traveling on a motorbike, had lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the accident. The motorbike used by the victims was also found submerged inside the water filled hole.

The bodies of the deceased are currently at the Kilinochchi Hospital's morgue and further investigations are ongoing.
