With the opening of the Dambulla Economic Centre at 10 pm last night (20), prices of vegetables have sky rocketed with large numbers of traders coming in to the centre to purchase stocks.
Accordingly, the wholesale price of a Kilo of vegetables this morning (21) is as follows.
Beans 280-300, Cabbage 150- 160, Green chillies 150 - 200, Leeks 140-160, Wiged beans 150 - 160, Bitter guard 280 - 300, Carrot 140- 150, Pumpkin 35- 45, Capsicum 280-300, Cucumber 80- 90, Brinjals 140-150, Long beans 150 - 160, Leeks 140- 160, Snake guard 80- 90, Ribbed guard 120-140, Ela Batu 200-220, Knol khol 90-110, Drumsticks 300, Kekiri 100-105.
