As per a statement released by the Chief Secretary of Southern Province Sumith Alahakoon, the issuance of vehicle revenue licenses in the Southern Province has been temporarily halted from tomorrow (September 27) to October 2, following an upgrade of the database.
Hence, issuing of vehicle revenue licenses in the Southern Province will resume at all regional offices and the Southern Province Office of the Department of Motor Traffic on October 6, 2023.
In addition, the issuance of vehicle revenue licenses via online has been temporarily discontinued from Sunday midnight (September 24) until midnight on October 2, 2023.
Moreover, a decision was made not to impose late penalties for revenue licenses that conclude between tomorrow (27) and October 6 to lessen the hassle induced to vehicle owners.
Besides, the issuing of vehicle revenue licenses in the Central Province will also be temporarily ceased from tomorrow (27), until October 2.
