Veteran journalist Premalal Wijeratne has passed away at the age of 75.
Mr Wijeratne had over 50 years experience in the journalism field, having served as a Journalist, News Editor and Deputy Editor for various publications.
He started his journalism career at the 'Dawasa' newspaper before going on to work for Irida Peramuna, Mawbima and Janayugaya newspapers. He was serving as the Deputy Editor of Mawurata newspaper at the time of his death.
His remains currently lie at No. 240, Wennawatta, Wellampitiya. Mr Wijeratne's funeral will take place at the Kotikawatte General Cemetery on Saturday (19).
