A woman suspect has been arrested for aiding and abetting the killing of two persons in the Hikkaduwa area late last year.
Hikkaduwa Police Station had initiated an investigation in October last year after the killing of two persons who were traveling on a motorcycle in Thiranagama area, after being fired upon by another person on a bike.
Of two persons travelling on a motorcycle one of them had fired with a T56 firearm killing two persons.
It has been revealed that the murder was carried out by Kalumuni Ravindu Sankha de Silva also known as the mobster Booru Muna, who is under the Western Province South Crime Division at present, on a contract of Rs. two million.
The arrested suspect is identified as a 31-year-old resident of Nalagasdeniya.
A two-day detention order was obtained after the suspect was presented to the Galle Magistrate’s Court yesterday. In the meantime, the Hikkaduwa Police are conducting further investigations.
An amount of Rs. two million including the used motorcycle, a three-wheeler, T56 firearm in respect of murders have been recovered.
