The Foreign Employment Bureau yesterday arrested a 33 year old woman over illegally maintaining a foreign job agency without permits and fraudulently obtaining 20 million rupees.
A team of officials of the bureau raided the illegal job agency office at Maradana. They added that investigations revealed that the woman had deceived group of women from Mahiyanganaya promising them employment at Dubai and obtained the money.
The woman was also identified as a resident of Mahiyanganaya had engaged in the illegal activity with the support of her husband.
It was revealed that the woman would charge Rs750, 000 from a woman while promising them employment at Dubai.
The husband of the woman too have agreed to hand himself over to a special investigation unit of the Foreign Employment Bureau today. The woman is also scheduled to be produced before Mahiyaganaya Magistrate courts today.
